Generation Green at The Forks is partnering with the Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce, Assiniboine Credit Union, and a proud group of local businesses to encourage Winnipeg to seek out a locally owned shop or boutique when looking for that perfect gift this holiday season.

We encourage you to going the conversation by using the hashtag #UnwrapWPG on social media when you buy a gift from a local business and support our community.  Every time your do, your name will be entered into a contest to win a local shopping spree!

For more information on this shop local initiative, visit the Winnipeg Chamber’s website and find out how we can #UnwrapWPG this holiday season.

Finally…spread the word!  Here are just a few reasons on the importance of shopping local:

  • Helps shape our city – The character of our city’s neighborhoods is shaped by the people living there and the shops and restaurants that serve them. Spending money at these local businesses helps them to thrive, supports the families that own them, and builds the personality of our neighborhoods
  • Supports our economy – Money spent at a local business is reinvested and remains in our community.  Shopping local strengthens the economy.
  • Great quality with better customer service – A local business will always provide better customer service and offer a personal connection to the products purchased there.

Generation Green is also proud to support local manufacturers and has a huge selection of Made in Manitoba products! Here are the made in Manitoba products you can currently find at Generation Green:
