So many folks who live in the Exchange District have been requesting fresh produce since we basically opened our doors last December!
We decided to give it a whirl and found an awesome local farm just south of Winnipeg that could supply us with what we were looking for. Natural Collective CSA grows spray free produce and is known primarily for their crop share program (Community Supported Agriculture or CSA).
CSA programs help farmers by giving them a guaranteed sale of their crop, which in turn gives members the benefits of enjoying a steady supply of freshly harvested food. You simply pay at the beginning of the year for fresh produce that you can then pick up weekly at designated areas. Check out their website for more details here.
Natural Collective is not certified organic but they are spray free, meaning they are not using any chemicals. Getting an organic certification is costly and would only increase the cost to consumer. They are very transparent about the methods they prefer to use.
We will bring in what is available and what the demand is for so please let us know!!! Today’s delivery included some gorgeous looking kale, tomatoes, zucchini, mixed greens, carrots, squash, beets, dill and cilantro.
Stop by soon and join us in supporting our local farmer!
