Episode 9 – A Wildflower Story: Learning To Walk With Grief

Amy Jordan Gilbert, 1990-2014

Everyone has a story, and we’re grateful that our Wildflower co-host Alison is so courageous to share a part of hers with all of us.

Losing her only biological daughter Amy tragically five years ago and then trying to figure out who she could now be in this world, was, is, and will forever be part of her journey.  Learning to walk with grief is what Alison realizes is all she can do now.

Some of you may remember or recognize Amy as one of Generation Green’s original staff members.  We feel as if Amy somehow has been part of bringing this Wildflower Project to be and will be forever grateful for having had her a part of our lives.

MacLeans Magazine article written about our beloved Amy Gilbert.

Grief I’ve learned, is really just love.

It’s all the love you want to give, but cannot.

All of that unspent love gathers in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in the hallow part of your chest.

Grief is just love with no place to go.
